Sam Hutchinson, Dean of Students

Sam Hutchinson is a dedicated educator and community leader, currently serving as the Dean of Students at South Valley Junior High. Growing up in Gilbert, Arizona, Sam has deep roots in the community and a strong commitment to its educational institutions.

Her journey in education began within the Gilbert Public Schools system, attending Islands Elementary, Mesquite Junior High, and Mesquite High School. After graduating from Arizona State University in 2008, Sam embarked on her mission to give back to her community through education.

Sam's career has been marked by her unwavering dedication to serving students with diverse needs. She started her teaching career at Houston Elementary, where she taught both first grade and special education. Throughout the years, she continued to specialize in special education, working across various levels from preschool to high school within the Gilbert Public Schools system.

With a passion for supporting her fellow educators and ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed, Sam transitioned into the role of instructional coach at the district level. In this capacity, she provided invaluable guidance and mentorship to special education teachers and students across the district, spanning from kindergarten to twelfth grade.

Throughout her professional journey, Sam has remained steadfast in her commitment to prioritizing students' needs above all else. Her experiences have instilled in her a deep-rooted belief in the importance of equity in education. She strives to ensure that every student, regardless of background or ability, has access to the resources and support they need to thrive academically and personally.

As the Dean of Students at South Valley Junior High, Sam brings her wealth of experience, passion for equity, and unwavering dedication to putting students first in all decision-making processes. She continues to make a profound impact on the lives of students and educators alike, embodying the spirit of service and commitment to excellence in education.
