Jonathan Schley, Principal

Jonathan Schley serves as the Principal of South Valley Junior High with a deep sense of enthusiasm and honor. Originally from Minnesota, Mr. Schley pursued his educational journey at St. Cloud State University, where he attained a Bachelor's Degree in Technology Education. Following several years of dedicated service in the classroom, he embarked on further academic pursuits, earning a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.

Over the course of two decades, Mr. Schley has been an integral part of the educational landscape within Gilbert Public Schools. His tenure commenced at South Valley, where he spent his initial three years before assuming teaching roles at Campo Verde High School. He subsequently held administrative positions, serving as the Dean of Students at Highland Junior High and Desert Ridge High School. Returning to South Valley as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, he has since assumed the role of Principal.

Mr. Schley's extensive professional journey has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics within educational environments. He possesses a wealth of experience in collaborating with students, educators, administrators, parents, and community members. Recognizing the importance of effective communication and leadership, Schley is committed to fostering a cohesive school community.

At South Valley Junior High, Mr. Schley is dedicated to employing a diverse array of strategies, all with a singular focus: the holistic well-being and academic success of the students. He firmly believes that student achievement is not by chance but rather the outcome of meticulous attention to detail, clear communication, and a steadfast commitment to meeting the needs of the school, its faculty, students, and the surrounding community.
