For over 100 years, Gilbert Public Schools has welcomed students back for the first day of school. While the anticipation and the Arizona heat remain the same, the first day of school has transformed dramatically over the years.

SVJH 7th grader Andres Vidales was honored at the May GPS Governing Board Meeting for competing in the Arizona High School Rodeo Association in bull riding to become the Arizona Junior High Bull Riding Champion.
