South Valley offers the Student Council, Art Club, Drum Club, Color Guard, Tech, Yearbook, and many other clubs & activities.
Students have access to the full junior high experience, both academically and socially, attending class with their peers in the morning, and then attending a sports training facility of their choice in the afternoon with transportation available.

Gilbert Public Schools is looking for enthusiastic job seekers to join our GPS Family! Join GPS for a Job Fair on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Highland High School located at 4301 East Guadalupe Road.
On January 14, 2025, GPS will welcome all employees who have worked in the district for 25 years to a celebratory breakfast hosted by Superintendent Dr. Shane McCord. These individuals, spanning diverse roles within the district, exemplify the heart and soul of GPS. These are just some of their incredible stories.
Five Gilbert Junior Highs competed in the inaugural Battle of the Badge, hosted by the Gilbert Police Department, to promote exercise and strengthen the valuable bond between students and their dedicated Student Resource Officers
The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) has released the 2023-24 School Letter Grades. For the 2023-24 school year Gilbert Public Schools has achieved an ‘A’ letter grade for our school district. Further, all GPS schools have achieved either an ‘A’ or ‘B’ letter grade, rating them as excellent or highly performing by the Arizona Department of Education.
Technology Integration Educators (TIEs) play an important role in ensuring students receive an engaging educational experience that develops critical thinking, problem-solving, and technology skills which will serve them well throughout their academic journey and beyond.

As we communicated at the beginning of this school year all of our students who ride a bus must have their Student ID Badges to ride the bus to and from school every day.
